Welcome to Day 2 of Condor E-glide, set in the rugged and unpredictable Scottish Highlands. Today’s task features soaring delight mixed with a generous dose of Highland mischief—expect strong lift in some areas and plenty of rain in others. It’s a day that will test your boldness, your strategy, and perhaps your choice of aircraft.
The twist for today: *cloud flying is allowed*, as it is in the UK. Climbing high(er) inside the clouds could offer an advantage, but it’s no easy feat and risky. For the brave and skillful, however, the rewards may be worth the risk?
With minimal airspace restrictions, the skies are wide open, but they won’t make things easy. Rain-soaked stretches will drain your lift, while scattered thermals and ridge opportunities will offer moments of reprieve. Success today hinges on reading the weather, managing your FES wisely, and possibly deciding when (or if) to venture into the clouds.
