Herzlich Willkommen zur Task Nr. 12 der "Rainy Day Challenge"
Task: Start: Schänis (Schweiz) - Ziel: Schänis (Schweiz)
Strammer SW Wind mit bis zu 50 km/h ist vorhergesagt.
Das Wetter verspricht hohe und starke Wellen !
Die Wettbewerbsleitung hat mit Radar Alps vereinbart, dass der oberer Luftraum geflogen werden darf. Für den Wettbewerb können die oberen Lufträume der Schweiz mit Transponder ohne Strafen geflogen werden.
Die Empfehlung lautet: Fliege nicht über 6.000 m MSL
Der Wendepunkt: Venetiaspitze ist daher auf das Umrunden in 6.000 m MSL maximiert !
Die Taktik ist entscheidend: niedrig am Hang oder hoch in den Wellen

Die wesentlichen Eckpunkte der Task:
Joining Time: 15 Minuten
Startlinie öffnet nach 8 Minuten und ist 15 Minuten für den Taskstart geöffnet
- maximaler Speed Startlinie: 180 km/h Ground Speed (GS)
- maximale Starthöhe: 2500 m MSL
Ziellinie:
- minimale Überflughöhe: 1000 m MSL
- maximale Überflughöhe : 1500 m MSL

Welcome to Task No. 12 of the ‘Rainy Day Challenge’
Task: Start: Schänis (Switzerland) - Finish: Schänis (Switzerland)
Strong south-westerly winds of up to 50 km/h are forecast.
The weather promises high and strong waves!
The competition management has agreed with Radar Alps that the upper airspace may be flown in. For the competition, the upper airspace of Switzerland may be flown with transponders without penalty.
The recommendation is: Do not fly above 6,000 m MSL
The turning point: Venetiaspitze is therefore maximised to a circuit at 6,000 m MSL!
Tactics are crucial: fly low on the slope or high in the waves

The key points of the task:
Joining time: 15 minutes
The start line opens after 8 minutes and is open for 15 minutes for the start of the task
- Maximum speed at the start line: 180 km/h ground speed (GS)
- Maximum start altitude: 2500 m MSL
Finish line:
- Minimum overflight altitude: 1000 m MSL
- Maximum overflight altitude: 1500 m MSL

Des vents forts de secteur sud-ouest pouvant atteindre 50 km/h sont prévus.
La météo promet des vagues hautes et fortes !
La direction de la compétition a convenu avec Radar Alps que l'espace aérien supérieur pouvait être survolé. Pour la compétition, les espaces aériens supérieurs de la Suisse peuvent être survolés avec un transpondeur sans pénalité.
La recommandation est la suivante : ne pas voler au-dessus de 6 000 m MSL
Le point de virage : Venetiaspitze est donc limité à un contournement à 6 000 m MSL !
La tactique est décisive : voler bas sur la pente ou haut dans les vagues

Les points essentiels de la tâche :
Joining Time : 15 minutes
La ligne de départ ouvre après 8 minutes et reste ouverte pendant 15 minutes pour le début de la tâche
- vitesse maximale à la ligne de départ : 180 km/h Ground Speed (GS)
- altitude maximale au départ : 2500 m MSL

- altitude minimale de survol : 1000 m MSL

La direzione della competizione ha concordato con Radar Alps che è consentito volare nello spazio aereo superiore. Per la competizione è possibile sorvolare lo spazio aereo superiore della Svizzera con transponder senza incorrere in penalità.
Si raccomanda di non volare oltre i 6.000 m MSL
Il punto di virata: la Venetiaspitze deve quindi essere circumnavigata a un'altitudine massima di 6.000 m MSL!
La tattica è fondamentale: volare basso lungo il pendio o alto sulle onde

The secound day on this flight series is good to fly but with quite changing conditions.

You start with only some little maker clouds and before noon they are often gone until you will reach it. So be careful finding the fist thermal.

With a little bit altitude the Vosges are no problem and you can cross the plain betweed the Vosges and the Jura. Be care full here, There are airspace restrictions only one sector is for free and the thermals are week. And the plain is gaining altitude. This part is not realy difficult, but you will need some time.
In the Jura the lifts get stronger and the task speeds up. But be carefull, there are airspaces from the airfields and it´s important to stay high, because of the high windspeed here.
And you have to find a good entrance into the alpin flying where you find some rigdelifts are strong thermals.
Don´t get lost here the high mountains are not realy flyable and there is the airspace of the Vercour.
A long text for a 3 hour task. Enjoy the flight

The beta version was the first test flight and it was harder than I expeced. I get very low three times and I was lucky to find a lift every time but that was a bit lucky.
If you fly a little bit more convervative there will be no such problems but I tried an average speed of 100kmh and I failed. 🤣 😎
