Description:
This is a detailed, photorealistic scenery of the Raleigh / Durham area of North Carolina (also known as the Research Triangle in the business world). North Carolina is the home of the historic Wright Brothers flight.
The scenery is relatively small, but highly detailed (6x6 tiles @ 8k). Scenery features include:
- Color corrected aerial imagery for spring/summer months.
- 15 modeled airports (some grass and some asphalt) - most airports include custom modeled buildings.
- Two of the airports have weekend glider operations in real life (Crooked Creek & Ball Field)
- Crooked Creek has a sloped grass runway (just like in real life) and the Condor 3 version has been updated to be even more realistic.
- The downtown area of Raleigh has many of its tallest buildings modeled.
- Trees are accurately modeled around most of the scenery.
- Watch out for the Cape Fear River tower and the WRAL TV tower - they are both about 2,000 ft tall.
- The PDA / Flight Planner map uses a hypsometric view of the area - with greatly exaggerated vertical scale. Don't be fooled by the apparent hills - this is flat land!
- The included RDU-USA-Aerial-1k.bmp file can be used to reference a detailed aerial overview of the scenery.
Please note that landscapes only work for their respective version of Condor. Condor 2 landscapes can be used on Condor 3 if and only if installed and converted with Condor Updater.
In order to offer a comfortable download, simultaneous downloads are limited. Please turn off download managers, they are not supported and will be blocked.
Condor Updater is a tool dedicated to the installation of Condor 2 & 3 landscapes and goodies. It’s the preferred (and the easiest!) way to download and install landscapes. You can download it from here.
