Description:
The USAFA landscapes is high resolution and small (3x3 tiles, 52×52 miles). It's used in conjunction with the Mach 0.1 simulator for pattern training and familiarity with the local flying area. The cadets usually solo after 12 rides.
Your takeoff point is a paved runway, starting in the middle. The landing area is the green Astro Turf just to the west. It is called the SPLA (Sail Plane Landing Area). It is divided into numbered lanes and gliders are cleared by the tower for a specified lane.
It was created using a detailed tutorial for creating photo-realistic terrain for Condor 2 (see www.SoaringTools.org for details).
