It's said that they save the best till last. Well, they haven't here, with another challenging AAT on a seriously windy day. The task looks straight forward, a downwind dash to Butser and a meander along the South Downs. The ridge flying is forced as the taswksetter has put an altitude cap along parts of the Downs, although it is thermic to a low level. The next area after Devil's Dyke is centered on Cerne Abbas, and gives a variey of options. The tasksetter took me aside at the end of the briefing, saying how impressed he was with my flying so far and gave me a tip: Fly very shallow into the Devil's Dyke Area because of he altitude cap and get some real km's done going as far West as you can at Cerne Abbas. He said this would definetely improve my score and maybe even bring a day win! PILOTS, GRID LAUNCH IN 20 MINUTES! |
