Dear participants,
thank you all for joining today already. Next week our tour , the European Virtual Soaring Trophy, starts in Weringermeer. Therefore we have to take the planes to the start airfield today.
Since we expect a cold front moving in from the North Sea, we have to start the task very early so that the all pilots will not be surprised by the front at the finish. Currently, a warm sector is still moving away at the starting point. But it is not advisable to wait long before taking off.
As we have a short take-off distance in Wesel, we have to limit the ballast to 55kg/m².
Route:
Today's route of 187km only takes us from Germany to the North Sea coast, Weringermeer in the Netherlands. The first leg goes northwest to de Voorst and from here westwards across the IJsselmeer.
Weather:
We are currently in a warm sector and a cold front is approaching from the west
Airspaces:
We were able to obtain clearances in advance for the majority of flight restriction areas along the route. Some areas, mostly at higher altitudes, are nevertheless active.
Be aware, any violation of the areas is considered an outlanding and severe fines can be expected.

Vielen Dank daß ihr schon alle eingetroffen seid. Morgen geht die Tour in Weringermeer los. Daher müssen wir heute noch die Flugzeuge dorthin fliegen.
Allerdings erwarten wir eine von der Nordsee hereinziehende Kaltfront. Daher müssen wir die Aufgabe schon sehr früh beginnen, damit nicht die langsameren Piloten am Ziel von der Front überrascht werden. Aktuell zieht am Startort noch ein Warmsektor ab. Doch ist es wenig ratsam mit dem Start lang zu warten.
Da die Startstrecke hier recht kurz ist müssen wir den Ballast auf 55kg/m² limitieren
Route:
Die heutige Route beträgt nur 187km und führt uns von Deutschland an die Nordseeküste, Weringermeer. Der erste Schenkel geht nach Nordwesten bis de Voorst und von dort westwärts über das Ijsselmeer.
Wetter:
Aktuell liegen wir in einem Warmsektor und von Westen zieht eine Kaltfront heran
Lufträume:
Für die Flugbeschränkungsgebiete entlang der Route konnten wir vorab Freigaben erhalten.
Einige Gebiete meist in größerer Höhe sind dennoch aktiv. Es wird um größte Vorsicht gebeten. Eine Verletzung der Gebiete wird als Außenlandung gewertet. Ferner ist mit empfindlichen Geldbußen zu rechnen.
