Welcome to Competition Task #7 at San Antonio Soaring Society Inc. This is SASSi's largest Proving Grounds task, "Running on Empty". Date & Time: February 13, 8:30pm EST, 7:30pm CST, 6:30pm MST, 5:30pm PST or 01:30Z Landscape: San Antonio (Texas) Allowed Gliders: Club Class Join Time: Join time is 20 minutes, 5 minute start countdown, 15 minute start window Max Start Height: 6000ft MSL Min Finish Height: 2900ft MSL Discord Channel Invite: https://discord.gg/Zwn59Qrtp5 Join the 'Chatter' channel to chat. If you prefer a quieter channel when flying, switch to 'Flying' You can load Proving Grounds tasks in XCSoar via the File Manager. Please keep all thermalling turns to the left before start. After you have started the task you are welcome to turn either direction. When you're finished flying this week's task, please upload the .ftr file to the contest on Condor Club as you would for other contents hosted through the site. If you'd like to experience the submission and processing of a Proving Grounds task feel free to convert, or export an .igc file from Condor and email it to SASSi@soaringtasks.com. The Proving Grounds is a task scoring and pilot recognition platform designed to introduce cross country flying basics that develop confidence in pilots and clubs so that new pilots are ready for the limitless opportunities cross country soaring provides! This contest will tour US proving Grounds sites, flying their largest task bringing together the learning benefits of collaborative flying using Condor 2, and showcasing the Proving Grounds platform.
