Welcome to Training Flight #4, leading into the Proving Grounds USA tour 2021-22 - tonight we experiment a bit with a special task in Edmonton. The Canadian National Contest is being held at the Edmonton Soaring Club this year and it was suggested to have a Condor Contest concurrently with the real life contest. This will be a test of the Assigned Area Task (AAT) for me and probably most others. I am also trying a single glider type for this race, the Std Cirrus. The Proving Grounds USA Tour starts on January 2nd! Condor Club notes on AAT - https://www.condor.club/generic/161/ XCSoar .tsk file for today's task (not in the XCSoar File Manager): https://drive.google.com/file/d/1-ICA1vhgRdvHOG1peI122LOpqrHPHfBf/view?usp=sharing Task time will be 1h30m - https://www.condor.club/showtask/0/?netid=ETERY Please keep all thermalling turns to the left before start. After you have started the task you are welcome to turn either direction. Join our Discord channel for air-to-air chatter: https://discord.gg/Zwn59Qrtp5 Join the 'Chatter' channel to chat. If you prefer a quieter channel when flying, switch to 'Flying' The Proving Grounds is a task scoring and pilot recognition platform designed to introduce cross country flying basics that develop confidence in pilots and clubs so that new pilots are ready for the limitless opportunities cross country soaring provides! This contest will tour US proving Grounds sites, flying their largest task bringing together the learning benefits of collaborative flying using Condor 2, and showcasing the Proving Grounds platform. Learn more about Proving Grounds at soaringtasks.com When you're finished flying this week's task, please upload the .ftr file to the contest on Condor Club as you would for other contests hosted through the site. |
