Cumulus Club Class Cup
(Feb. 26th, 2026 - April 1st, 2026)

'

Early notice!

The Cumulus Club Class Cup is a club class glider racing series where short tasks are flown with water ballast. The club class was chosen because the majority of competitors I know are chronically financially challenged ie. poor, broke, penniless, unprosperous etc., and it would be cruel to give them even a brief and virtual glimpse of a modern, state-of-the-art glider that they cannot afford. FOMO is no longer a fear for them, but a reality.

There is a special thing in this competition. The same task is always flown twice, so that competitors can either try to learn from their mistakes and improve their performance next time. Or repeat their previous mistakes and fly even worse in the re-attempt. The choice is yours. Quite a few participants are also real-life xcountry and competition pilots, so they might benefit from being able to try to make better decisions on another retry attempt or reinforce the perception of their own incompetence.

The flight weather is designed to correspond to typical Finnish gliding weather, which is usually miserable compared to the weather in Namibia or Australia.

The first task is on 26 FEB 2026 at 17 UTC

The competition logo has once again been designed by an artificial intelligence, which claims that the contestants have excessively large heads, perhaps a hydrocephalus. This is hardly a coincidence, as in the first AI designed Cumulus Cup logo, some competitors saw three sperm swimming around a circle. The end result of that would probably be a big-headed glider pilot. So everyone is welcome, this is a very inclusive competition.

### Competition dates ###

26 FEB
12 MAR
2 APR

Only the 4 best performances are taken into account, so the competition organizer also has the opportunity to place in the middle stages simply by participating in each task.

### Permitted aircraft types ###

Any club class aircraft or any aircraft in another racing class that is part of the Condor 3 product's standard fleet. The competition director and jury use last-minute discretion in determining the competition class and glider type, so we do not accept suggestions.

### Disclaimer ###

This competition does not represent the official policy, opinion, philosophy, religion, political beliefs, sexual orientation or McReady setting of any real gliding club, person or institution, although it may be completely consistent with all of the above.
