[OPEN] 1st Virtual Sailplane Grand Prix - World Final 2021

We are pleased to announce the first ever eSport competition that is officially approved by the Fédération Aéronautique Internationale.
The International Gliding Commission, the Sailplane Grand Prix Team, the FFVP (French Gliding Association), and the Condor Team will co-organise the 1st Virtual FAI/SGP event.
The 1st Virtual Sailplane Grand Prix - World Final 2021 will take place from the 5th to the 11th of September 2021, at the same time as the 10th FAI Sailplane Grand Prix World Final X in Saint-Auban, France.
There are two separate competitions, the official, and the non-official (open) event.

Thanks for joigning us in the development of eSport contest with Condor.Club and the Condor Team.
You may find all the information you need on

I strongly invite you to read the local procedures and the self-briefing.
Nevertheless, there are some small differences between the Official and the Open event :
- Servers : We will launch races with maximum 40 pilots (instead of 20) per server. We are aware of the high number of competitors on the 18h00 UTC slot and we will create enough servers for you to have a place to fly. Please do not forget to read the briefing sent by Condor.Club approximately 1 hour before each race. You MUST join the servers with the password given by Condor.Club (that is on your briefing sheet).
- Start line will be bigger than for the Official event, as you will be 40 pilots to cross the start line at the same time. Expect a line of 10 km (2 x 5km). There will be an altitude limit, but no speed limit, as we want you to focus on what is going on around you, and not on your instruments. Please watch out and don't cross the line at 250kph. Try to fly safely, gliding is a game, even in VR.
- Arrival : you may land anywhere on the field, there are no penalties, just make sure to cross the line (press J to see the TPs)
- Scoring : you must deliver your FTR file to Condor.Club asap, after landing. If you quit the game to quickly, you can retrieve your last flight in Documents/Condor/FlightTrack -->
LastTrack.ftr ! The races will be scored with a 1000pts baremic scale, as it is impossible to score you all with only 10 points for the winner.
- Landscape & Condor : Please use Condor 2.1.7 coming out in a few hours & AA2 V0.8
- Skins : you may use the liveries created by .tail. They will all be available on Condor.Club "goodies", before the training day on the 4th of September. To get a better display of the competition number on the Ventus3-18 tail, download the file available at
https://condor.club/i/tmp/Ventus3-18RCN.c3d and save it in the Condor subdirectory \Planes\Ventus3-18 (usually located in C:\Condor2).

- Tips : There is a simplified map of the French Alps on our website. It should help some of you.
- Prize giving : big news for you ! Condor Team is offering gliders to the best pilots of the Open Contest :
Podium = 3 gliders offered per pilots
4th and 5th = 2 gliders
6th to 10th = 1 glider
