Competition's details

Condor World Championship Season 2012
(June 25th, 2012 - Dec. 24th, 2012)

General:
The Condor World Championship series offers a new type of competition.
There will be one race each week throughout the whole rest of the year, making a total of 5 practice weeks and 20 race weeks.
There will be no official server races, so you can fly the races offline or get together and do it in a LAN-session. Offline has the advantage to pause the flight when doing a big task.
Registration will be open throughout the first half of the season, but pay attention to the scoring system. Don't miss too much races.

Scoring:
The scoring will be in Grand Prix mode, so the winner scores ten points, second place eight points and so on. All races count to your total score, so be sure, to fly every race and try as often as you can, to be in the top nine and score championship points.
The pilot scoring the most points overall will be the Condor World Champion 2012.
If two or more pilots have the same amount of points, the pilot with the most wins is on top. If two or more of them have the same amount of wins, the amount of 2nd place finishes decide and so on...

Timing conditions:
Each competitor flying online has to organize the session first, then start the server with the jointime set to 5 minutes at maximum.
This is necessary to have same weather conditions for online and offline racers. This rule will be checked randomly and flights which don't match this criteria will be disqualified.

Sceneries:
All different kinds of sceneries will be used. Which scenery will be used can be seen 3 weeks in advance, this should give you plenty of time to download the files if you haven't already.

Race times:
Races are on a weekly basis, starting each monday at 12am UTC and ending at the same time one week later.
So there will be no gap between the race weeks.
There will be a one week brake when we are done half way.

Crashes:
FTRs with a crash will score the distance, but no time. It means you are beaten by everyone finishing the task and if there are several people who crashed, the pilot with the most distance gets the best position. Since you have unlimited tries, you should just do it again, before you upload a flight with a crash (or outlanding).

Cheating:
Cheating is (for sure) not allowed - pilots doing so will be punished with suspensions or exclusions.

Pricing:
The first season will be a free competition. If it is a great success, the following seasons will have a registration fee - this fee is to pay a server to provide you with online racing.

Winners prize:
The Winner will receive a free one year premium membership at Condor Club + free participation at CWC 2013.
2nd and 3rd place will receive free participation at CWC 2013.

Please post any comments or suggestions into the forum.

Have fun. Kind regards.
Martin
