Southern Alps Grand Prix
(Jan. 1st, 2026 - Jan. 17th, 2026)

The Southern Alps Grand Prix is a multi-day Condor soaring competition set in the demanding terrain of the southern Alpine arc. The event features short, high-intensity alpine race tasks, designed to reward precision, tactical clarity, and disciplined execution.

The first stage will start in Vinon-sur-Verdon in France and the last stage will end in Klagenfurt, Austria. The end of each stage will be the start of the next one. Be prepared for initial flat stages which will become more difficult as the tour enters the alps. Enjoy the wonderful landscapes of the Italian Alps, but please, don't touch them.

All tasks are 100–150 km in length. With limited distance, every decision matters: the start, the first climb, line selection along ridges, and valley crossings. There is little room to recover from mistakes.

Tasks begin with an airborne start, ensuring fair and consistent starts for all pilots and keeping the focus on flying skill rather than launch randomness.

Despite the compact task length, the terrain and conditions remain fully alpine: strong thermals, ridge lift, and selective crossings that demand commitment. These are fast, concentrated races, not endurance flights.
